Continued discussion of SEC-168 regarding inflation-linked bonds and gaps in our current model. We added TIPS, and then started to look at other sovereign debt instruments, including UK Gilts. We added conventional gilt and decided to incorporate inflation-indexed gilts to complete this particular issue resolution. See https://www.dmo.gov.uk/responsibilities/gilt-market/about-gilts/ for additional details.
Note that Pete found a nice summary regarding inflation-indexed bonds at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation-indexed_bond that covers multiple countries. We also briefly discussed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Savings_Bonds. For Japan, he found https://www.mof.go.jp/english/policy/jgbs/topics/bond/10year_inflation/index.htm and https://m.rbi.org.in/Scripts/FAQView.aspx?Id=91 in India. There are others as well that have quite large markets, but the conclusion was that we don't necessarily need to be exhaustive, but perhaps should include a few individuals to demonstrate how to model them.
